Holdren, author of Ecoscience, says the optimum world population is 1 billion people (we're at almost 7 billion), and in order to provide a higher quality of life for all there must be fewer people..... he says you could do this by putting chemicals in food and water, licences for birth, compulsary abortion, and that a planetary 'regime' should be given the responsibility for determining this...
