The government of Chiapas, Mexico had issued a bulletin to its citizens on March 16, 2012 inviting them to participate in a mega earthquake simulation drill that was to be held on March 20 at 12:00 hours. The following is the announcement of the drill by the government of SAN CRISTOBAL DE LAS CASAS, Chiapas:
Ready for the mega drill
As part of the Third Meeting of Cabinet authorities of the three orders of government are prepared to carry out the Mega Drill to be held on March 20 in about 12 hours.
Having made the installation of the “State Emergency Committee”, Federal, State, municipal and civil associations made the last Cabinet meeting in order to provide a structure in the control and coordination of resources in case of a situation contingency.
As a special guest at this workshop is counted with the presence of the Director General of the Centre and seismic recording instrumentation AC (CIRES) Juan Manuel Espinosa Aranda who performed in conjunction with the communications working group a presentation on seismic warning system, which collects information and is used to develop systems for prevention in case of earthquakes.
For the realization of this workshop were installed 14 working groups in which each entity delegated to a representative and liaison which will serve to meet the requirements for the completion of the Mega Drill.
Through the State Emergency Committee established a unified coordination group in order to consolidate all operational elements relating to health and emergency management to the restoration of Strategic Services.
Note that the Mega Drill will be the perfect setting to test the work of this committee, which will allow us to assess the current status of State Civil Protection System to meet a contingency situation.
In this exercise involving staff from the Ministry of National Defense, Secretary of the Navy, Federal Police, Ministry of Communications and Transport, Civil Aviation Directorate General, National Telecommunications Commission, Ministry of Infrastructure, Field Secretary, Ministry of Health, Secretary of Environment and Nature history, Secretary of Transportation, Red Cross, Fire Department, among many others.
In the event attended by over 100 institutions and units of the three levels of government throughout the state of Chiapas, with the sole purpose of continuing the work to implement the Mega Drill on 20 March at about 12 pm the day.
In this framework, unveiled the strategies of public administration to implement theMega Drill with Hypothesis 7.9 ° Richter quake, which referred the action to be taken each agency and the work done in case of a emergency.

Mass-Casualty Earthquake Drill held..... Preparing as they did before 9/11?
Anthony Thompson was in shock, disoriented and combative.
As an emergency medical responder restrained him in the middle of a parking lot, Thompson screamed out in pain.
Thompson said he had been in the lobby of an old building on 20th Street. Glass was embedded in his skin and bones were sticking through his skin. He was crying, coughing and had become disorderly. Emergency rescuers had to hold him down, so he wouldn't hurt himself further.
But none of it was real. Instead, it was a multiagency, multijurisdictional mass-casualty drill. Emergency officials wanted to make it as life-like as possible, so they could test the region's ability to communicate and coordinate a response to a catastrophic earthquake in Northern Utah.
The mock scenario continued inside an adjacent building, where dozens of people were waiting for help after suffering their own injuries. Many of them were trapped.
"Help. Please. They left us," screamed Hallie Smock. "We were working overtime when the earthquake hit. I've got burns all over my body. A pole went through my leg. I'm bleeding really bad."
A piece of ceiling had fallen on Saileen Baughman just as she was entering the restroom.
Robert Adamson slammed into a window, embedding shattered glass in his hand and face.
"I don't know whether I'm going to live," he said. "I'm worried about my family and my two daughters."
"These are the kinds of things that will happen during a real disaster," said Kirk Freeman, Ogden city emergency coordinator. "People are going to panic and become very stressed and disoriented. This is a great way for us to look at our plans, make improvements and deal with this as if it were the real deal."
The drill began at the old Navy and Army Reserve, 980 20th St., and included 120 students from Clearfield Job Corps, who played the role of victims. Each victim was triaged, treated and transported to McKay-Dee Hospital or Ogden Regional Medical Center by bus, ambulance or helicopter. The goal was to have this done within 60 minutes of the earthquake.
A command post was on site, in addition to the Weber Metro Heavy Rescue Team, Weber County Animal Response Team and additional resources from the Northern Utah Regional Response Team.
"We are working with several counties, including Weber, Davis, Box Elder, Morgan, Cache, Rich," said operations controller Lance Peterson. "Everyone will be communicating and working together under the same guidelines."
Peterson said if a 7.0 earthquake were to hit Northern Utah, it is estimated there would be around 3,000 deaths and 37,000 homes destroyed.
Ron Ball, risk management director for Ogden, was at the scene to make sure no one actually got hurt.
"We're here to make sure things stay safe during the drill," he said. "We don't want people to really get hurt."
Ball said in the many drills he's been involved in, he has never seen an actual injury.
However, Ogden School District public relations director Donna Corby said, two years ago during a disaster drill at Ogden High School, one of the "victims" went into labor.
"There were EMTs everywhere, and of course, they stabilized her and got her to the hospital, where she delivered a healthy baby," Corby said.
Corby said the school district was awarded a readiness emergency management FEMA grant. That grant money allows the district to be as prepared as possible in the event of a disaster, she said.
"We have 12,600-plus students and if we have an earthquake of this magnitude, we will not be releasing any of those students," she said. "We will keep them until their parents come for them and that may mean they have to spend the night. So we have safety bags and food and water on all of our campuses. We practice these drills and take them very seriously."
Lucy Astorga, who was trapped in one of the buildings, said the drill felt real to her.
"I've never been in an earthquake before, but this is very scary," she said. "A lot of things go through your mind, and you hope someone will find you and help you."

Rapper 2pac 'rises from the dead' for Hologram Show..... Is Project Bluebeam warming up?
Rapper Tupac Shakur died over 15 years ago in a drive-by shooting, but that didn't prevent him from performing at the Coachella music festival in California last night - as a hologram.
The virtual Tupac was put together by video technology firm AV Concepts with the help of James Cameron's visual effects company, Digital Domain, using a mix of previously recorded live footage and CGI. The hologram effect was created using a system developed by London-based Musion, which uses an advanced version of a 19th century magic trick called Pepper's ghost to make virtual images appear live on stage.
While the traditional Pepper's ghost illusion uses light partially reflected off a pane of glass, Musion's version involves a custom-developed foil to create more realistic images. Tupac appeared on stage alongside rappers Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg - who are very much alive - and greeted the crowd by naming the Coachella festival, despite the fact it had not been held prior to his death.
As we reported last year, the creation of digital humans is becoming increasingly sophisticated and actors will soon be able to record their likeness, potentially allowing them to star in films long after their death. It won't be long before the first all-digital lead actor hits our screen, Stephen Rosenbaum, a visual effects supervisor at Digital Domain, told New Scientist. "You look at the imagery and the performances and it's absolutely believable. It just takes a director that's going to be brave enough to cross that line."

Global Weirding: the New Big Lie
They're calling it Global Weirding now, as I suppose, inevitably they were bound to do in the end. Well "global warming" stopped working in 1989 when the globe stopped warming. Climate change was always a bit of a non-starter because climate does change regardless of whether or not we all drive 4 x 4s, or buy carbon offsets or listen to Stephen Fry and Ron Weasley's injunction to take our holidays in England this year. And Global Climate Disruption, as some pillock tried to christen it, was never going to catch on because, well, it's just too blatantly contrived and desperate isn't it?
So Global Weirding it is. The concept was popularised last week in acharacteristically dire and parti pris BBC Horizon documentary which purported to have lots of new evidence (or 'hearsay' as it would more likely have been termed in a court of law) showing that our weather is getting more extreme – weirder. It seems to have been broadcast to coincide with a new IPCC report which has been excitedly written up in newspapers like the Guardian and the Detroit Free Press as evidence that we are heading towards climate disaster.
Global warming is leading to such severe storms, droughts and heatwaves that nations should prepare for an unprecedented onslaught of deadly and costly weather disasters, an international panel of scientists has said.The greatest danger is in highly populated, poorer regions, but no corner of the globe is immune. The document, by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, forecasts stronger tropical cyclones and more frequent heatwaves, deluges and droughts, and blames man-made climate change, population shifts and poverty.
But this is pretty much the exact opposite of what the IPCC report actually says. As Roger Pielke Jr has noted, the report is a far cry from the IPCC's usual slipshod, scaremongering standards:
Kudos to the IPCC — they have gotten the issue just about right, where "right" means that the report accurately reflects the academic literature on this topic. Over time good science will win out over the rest — sometimes it just takes a little while.A few quotable quotes from the report (from Chapter 4):The report even takes care of tying up a loose end that has allowed some commentators to avoid the scientific literature:"Some authors suggest that a (natural or anthropogenic) climate change signal can be found in the records of disaster losses (e.g., Mills, 2005; Höppe and Grimm, 2009), but their work is in the nature of reviews and commentary rather than empirical research."
So what this IPCC report is saying is that WE DO NOT KNOW if there's an anthropogenic signal in extreme weather patterns, and that there does not seem to be a trend towards increased extreme weather events such as tornados and tropical storms. Yet the liberal MSM is reporting the opposite. How come?
Well here's the weird part. The misinformation comes from the IPCC's summary of its own report (available here) which has been regurgitated, in classic churnalism style, by all the usual lazy MSM suspects. (H/TKatabasis)
It begins:
"Evidence suggests that climate change has led to changes in climate extremes such as heat waves, record high temperatures and, in many regions, heavy precipitation in the past half century, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said today."
The IPCC, of course, has form in this regard. With its four Assessment Reports, its Summaries for Policymakers have been notably more extreme and confident in CAGW than the reports themselves warrant. So yet again what we have here is the work of serious-minded, neutral scientists (yes, they do still exist) being twisted for political purposes by activists.
As we know, the great global warming alarmism Ponzi scheme is looking extremely vulnerable at the moment. Global warming has stopped. There's a growing public backlash against eco-taxes, ugly flickery lightbulbs, higher energy bills, bat chomping eco-crucifixes and all the other paraphernalia of the environmental religion. And unfortunately, as we saw in '44 and '45, what these kind of people do when they get backed into a corner is not surrender but get nastier and more devious.
We've seen this recently in the Fakegate affair. And in Leo Hickman of the Guardian's contemptible "expose" of one of the hitherto anonymous donors of the Global Warming Policy Foundation. And in the Planet Under Pressure comedy conference staged last week by comedy organisations including the Royal Society, mainly in order to try to breathe new life into the stagnant, green-tinged corpse of climate alarmism.
One of the speakers at Planet Under Pressure claimed – in apparent seriousness – that climate scepticism was an illness that needed to be treated.
Scepticism regarding the need for immediate and massive action against carbon emissions is a sickness of societies and individuals which needs to be "treated", according to an Oregon-based professor of "sociology and environmental studies". Professor Kari Norgaard compares the struggle against climate scepticism to that against racism and slavery in the US South.Prof Norgaard holds a B.S. in biology and a master's and PhD in sociology.
"Over the past ten years I have published and taught in the areas of environmental sociology, gender and environment, race and environment, climate change, sociology of culture, social movements and sociology of emotions," she says.
The effort to re-brand legitimate scientific dissent as a mental disorder that requires pharmacological or psychological treatment is a frightening glimpse into the Brave New World society climate change alarmists see themselves as ruling over.Due to the fact that skepticism towards man-made global warming is running at an all time high, and with good reason, rather than admit they have lost the debate, climate change alarmists are instead advocating that their ideological opponents simply be drugged or brainwashed into compliance.

Are Zionists' really planning to destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque by artificial Earthquake?
Head of Quds Supreme Court Yusuf Ade'is warned about the Zionist regime's plots to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque through artificial earthquakes.
"This action (creating artificial earthquake) is not difficult for the Zionist regime since the drilling operations around the (al-Aqsa) Mosque has worn off the foundations of the Mosque's building," Ade'is told FNA on Saturday.
He further cautioned that officials and rabbis of Zionist settlements have recently attended a series of overt and covert meetings coordinated with Israeli defense ministry to work out plans to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque.
In light of the Arab and Muslim world's passive stance, the Zionist regime takes any action it wants very freely and breaks sanctuaries and Judaizes the Quds city without being questioned by the international community.
In April 2011, the Al Aqsa Foundation for Islamic Endowment (Waqf) and Heritage reported that the Israeli Authorities are going on with their excavations under the Al Aqsa Mosque to create a network of tunnels under and around the very important mosque.
The foundation stated that occupation is penetrating areas beneath the mosque and its surroundings through excavations that have been escalated during the last few months.
The foundation added that the excavations and digging are also being conducted under the Al Boraq Wall near the Moghrabi Gate (Bab Al Magharba), Al Silsila Gate (Gate of the Chain), and Al Mat-hara Gate.
A senior Palestinian journalist in an article last month stressed that protecting the Al-Aqsa Mosque from fanatic Zionist Jews is a vital responsibility of every Muslim.
In an editorial in Al-Jazeerah website, Khalid Amayreh called on Muslims to protect Islam's holy places in the Holy Quds (Jerusalem).
"Attacking or destroying or burning the Islamic house of worship of 1400 years would spark off religious wars between Muslims and Jews, wars that would only end when the redeemer or Jewish Messiah appears," he said in the article.
Palestinian officials have repeatedly warned that the Israeli Quds municipality continues its attempts to Judaize East Quds (Jerusalem) through the renaming of Arab street names and monuments in the city.
As part of what the municipality calls "infrastructure restoration and area development", authorities fenced off areas around the city's historic Damascus Gate to do name and landscape changes as part of the Judaizing of the city.

DARPA unveils Laser 'Weapons System' available by the end of 2012
A weapon that used to be the size of a passenger jet now fits on the back of a flatbed truck. (Shark mounting apparatus sold separately.)
DARPA is unveiling a portable laser weapons system, HELLADS, which seems like something out of a sci-fi movie. The new laser application, created by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems with a custom power system from Saft Batteries, will help change the way the American military fights future wars. Current military laser systems are bulky contraptions which are mainly the size of a passenger jet, while the proposed DARPA weapon can fit on the back of a flatbed truck. The 150-kilowatt, solid state laser weapon is strong enough to take down drones or other aerial targets; a prototype is expected to be available by the end of 2012.
HELLADS stands for High Energy Liquid Laser Area Defense System. Since laser beams work at the speed of light, it's effectively impossible for aerial targets to dodge them. The use of laser beams against land targets is complicated by line-of-sight issues, but the miniaturization of laser technology makes them perfect for use against aerial and naval targets. The demonstration laser for DARPA will be the first 150-kilowatt laser weapon of its kind. DARPA plans to use the completed prototypes against targets at White Sands Missile Range in early 2013--this will include ground testing against rockets, mortars, and surface-to-air missiles.
Although video footage of HELLADS is not available yet, this clip of a previously developed American-Israeli laser system (which will be discussed later) from Northrop Grumman gives a good idea of how the system will work.
The big advance with these weapons is in the strength of the lasers and in their portability. Saft's Annie Sennet-Cassity told Fast Company that while previous military laser prototypes were stronger, they were also about the size of a passenger jet. This creates obvious difficulties in battlefield or aerial use. A 150-kilowatt laser beam is powerful enough to destroy aircraft. Previous military laser weapons primarily relied on blinding pilots with laser beams, rather than destroying the aircraft itself. For the United States Air Force, the ultimate goal is to equip bombers and UAVs with HELLADS weaponry.
However, the United States is not the only nation developing laser weapons. The Israeli government and American defense contractors have quietly been working for years on the Nautilus laser system, which in the words of Wired's Danger Room blog, gave the country a “ray gun defense.” Russia has been working on aerial military lasers since at least 2010, and India has also been developing a laser weapon system of its own.
While the idea of military lasers, death rays, and ray guns encourage all sorts of futurist fantasies, there will be major limitations to these weapons. Despite the fact that DARPA's laser can destroy airplanes, the strength of the laser beam is greatly weakened by clouds, haze, and dust clouds—something that can limit on-the-ground use in warzones.

"Earth Groans" and "Trumpets of the Apocalypse"..... Is there a rational cause for the 'Strange Noises' coming from the Sky?
More press-time given to 'Strange Events' and Apocalypse Spiel...
Mysterious sounds have been heard booming from the sky all around the world – in some cases they were so loud they set off car alarms.
The unsettling noises were heard recently from Europe to Canada, sounding like groans and powerful horns.
In Germany noises coming from the sky were recorded on a video camera and uploaded to YouTube, with car alarms clearly heard going off in the background.

The internet has been buzzing with theories about what the sounds could be, with suggestions such as Jesus returning and the world ending put forward.
But experts have said that there are rational explanations.
University of Saskatchewan physics professor Jean-Pierre St. Maurice told CTV that it’s electromagnetic noise emitted from auroras and radiation belts.
Shedding light on the matter: Could auroras be responsible for the strange noises being heard far and wide?
Geoscientist David Deming from the University of Oklahoma, meanwhile, has previously written about a phenomenon called The Hum – ‘a mysterious and untraceable sound that is heard in certain locations around the world by two to ten per cent of the population’.
Writing in the Journal of Scientific Exploration, he said that sources of The Hum could include telephone transmissions and ‘aircraft operated by the U.S Navy for the purpose of submarine communications’.
According to Nasa, the Earth has ‘natural radio emissions’.
The Agency said: ‘If humans had radio antennas instead of ears, we would hear a remarkable symphony of strange noises coming from our own planet. Scientists call them "tweeks," "whistlers" and "sferics."
'They sound like background music from a flamboyant science fiction film, but this is not science fiction. Earth's natural radio emissions are real and, although we're mostly unaware of them, they are around us all the time.’
For instance lightning can produce eerie-sounding radio emissions, Nasa added.
Earthquakes can also produce sub-audible sounds, according to seismologist Brian W Stump from the Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
